THE NEW 2007/8 "WALTHAM FOREST CARNIVAL COURT"

The Carnival Queen and her Court, elected at our selection night 8 March 2008, will be entitled
to represent Waltham Forest through out 2008/9, by attending numerous other Carnivals,
functions and social events all over the Country, as well as in and around Waltham Forest.

Carnival Profile

The "Walthamstow Carnival" as it was known then, was started pre-1939 and ceased during the
war years. It re-emerged as an annual event for the local Community in approximately 1947, and
in it's present format some 60 years on, is known as the Waltham Forest Carnival supporting
local charities in Chingford, Walthamstow, Leyton and Leytonstone. We are also members of The National Carnival Guild.
